THE CAMBRIDGE SCRUTONIAN SOCIETY
Prelude
The Cambridge Scrutonian Society is named after the late English writer, Roger Scruton, who wrote over sixty books, fiction and non-fiction on topics ranging from the philosophy of wine, architecture, literary criticism, musicology, English country farming, the sense of the sacred, opera, sexual ethics, and the philosophical significance of neuroscience.
Our society is for those interested in developing such a polymath range of interests as well as broadening their perspective on their own subject. To that end, we invite a wide variety of speakers, from academics, to artists, to Members of Parliament.
We operate two branches: Cambridge & Westminster Abbey
